A DIFFERENT GUN

We wait for the army to cross the border;

the cyber attack misunderstood.

Redcoats lined up in order

as arrows fly from the wood.

Tanks and missiles deflect attention,

lull the mind with their deception.

The war has already begun

with a new type of gun.

The siege needs no catapult.

Cyber siege is more easily done.

Walls are breached at banks and utilities,

debasing tools of the economy

which keeps nations alive and ready.

We wait with our loss of imagination

as to how the war can be won.

The enemies of democracy

use a different gun.
