upon considering
what is in store
if justice is denied,
just to save your pride
and the story you tell to justify
the twists and turns
of so many lies.
One can only hope it is true
that we can count on you.
Your country needs you.
As do I
to keep the temperature down,
calm the storms,
and grow democracy
in rows just and orderly.
Freedom dies too easily
when weeds are allowed
to grow un-fact-checked.
The forecast tells us

There is only one answer that works in a democracy. That is to follow the rule of law. The law is a sacred trust meant to curb the worst tendencies of human beings in order to assure greater freedom for all human brings. Court packing with judges who lied to get confirmed undermines the rule of law. Gerrymandering to favor a single party undermines the rule of law, and undermines “one person- one vote” which assures the rule of law. My advice is to never vote for a fascist candidate whose party rallies round to keep an unlawful hold on power. No excuses allowed. If in Ohio, vote “No” on Issue One which would allow a small minority to rule. Issue One is structured to deny voters their say.We have a long way to go to secure our democracy. U. S. v. Donald Trump case is the most important in our history. As important as Marburg v. Madison, Dred Scott de idiom, Brown v. Bd. Of Education. My advice… do not re-elect, nor elect anyone who spouts the lies and conspiracy theories preaching how evil are those simply being human and trying to do good for every other human being despite their sex, sexual preference, race, ethnicity, immigration or refugee status. I guess it comes down to “ Do unto others as you wish them to do unto you.” Republican fascists ( not all republicans are fascist but they allow fascists to control the Republican Party)must be defeated. Our institutions, like each of us, are imperfect. But. They are all that stands between order and chaos. Chaos benefits the few. Order benefits the many. Undermining the FBI, Court system, congress, congressional committees, state local school boards, state local health departments etc. Are taking us down a path toward fascism. You know those who are doing this. Telling us “ it is for your own good” is paternalism. Not freedom.
