Time is meaningless
to those who carry a heavy load
or suffer degradation so far below,
to lovers caught in ecstasy
or artists in creativity’s flow,
to children in mindless play
on every endless summer day.
No timepiece is needed
to mark sorrow or joy.
The heart’s memory is large enough
to carry forth one’s entire story.
Time is meaningless
without acknowledging grief and glory.
