For the past year, I blogged in support of the re-election of President Barack Obama at worthingtonforobama2012.wordpress.com/. I also blog at Franklin County Ohio Democratic Party website http://www.fcdp.org/index.php/blog. Annarino Writes will allow me to post social commentary as well as political commentary, poetry and short stories. I hope you find something of value, share my joy in living, and sense the beauty all around us as you read my words.
“In the beginning was the Word”; and so, the universe began the arc of creation. Words brought life back to me, and me back to life. By 1992, Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS), commonly called chronic fatigue syndrome had so ravaged my body that I could no longer sit, stand, walk or crawl. I could not speak nor understand speech. Words had lost all meaning. The career I loved was multi-faceted and had kept me happily engaged until I had to retire due to illness.
At the time, I thought I would eventually recover and return to my position as Ohio University Associate Director of Legal Affairs and Assistant Attorney General for the State of Ohio. But, years of effort to recover have been minimally successful. I can now use words, but dyslexia and word confusion still haunt my writing and speaking. My stamina is unreliable at best. Nevertheless, I continue to write and find my way through the forest of words thought lost forever.
I shall write about CFIDS, and the journey it is taking me on, in the commentary section. Poetry was the first word form which my brain was able to comprehend, and is my great healer. Illness and powerlessness go hand-in-hand. Politics is the art of wielding power;of course I spend much of my energy exploring the realm of politics, testing my own use of political power through political commentary.

Hello Louise, This is Prema Swearingen in California. We met in the early 1990s on a train in Oregon going between Seattle and California. We kept in touch for a while. You told me of your dream/vision about the Pope and of how you were able to send a warning to him, which was acknowledged by his office. And of the understanding you came to about your relative’s less than fortunate circumstance.
Your name suddenly popped to mind today and I googled you. I’m so happy you’re still alive and contributing so much. Actually, I’m not surprised because of your indomitable spirit and your drive to contribute no matter what.
