KEEP LAUGHING

Photo by Rodolfo Quiru00f3s on Pexels.com

Earth is laughing so hard

she is holding her sides.

Her laughter has not died.

She holds it inside.

Too often, there is not a smile to be seen.

Comedians and laughter are under attack;

sad attempt to kill laughter, it is true.

But, let me tell you

I awake every day with a smile on my face

and my mind full of plans and laughter as I cope;

planning strategies to keep us all woke

enough to strategize and energize

enough to keep Earth and our freedom alive.

I smile when I find new ways

to resist, persist and overcome

those who strive so hard to make us glum.

Where they see threat, I see possibility.

Where they feel fear, I feel connected community.

When they shout their pain, I shout my glee.

Earth trembles to keep her laughter inside

at the foolish ego-maniacal MAGA leaders’ pride.

Earth continues to teach us her lessons

with a smile on her face from sunrise to sunset.

Giving us the means to keep us alive, and all our needs met.

Balance and connection are what we need

to continue on the path to wealth without greed.

Intersected boundaries are what we need

to continue on the path to true peace.

This is Earth’s greatest gift: her instinctive ability

to make us laugh as we grow in humility,

knowing we cannot berate nor control

Earth’s power to grow, to heal and renew

the damage men and women unintentionally do.

I laugh aloud with Earth today.

Our guffaws and chuckles thrown out wide.

Come laugh with us, then; and hold your heaving sides.

Try to unbend and dry your eyes so you can see.

That laughter has not died, nor ever must.

Constant negativity has nowhere to go

except “dust to dust” buried below,

in the space laughter has made deep within Earth.

And once this doom and gloom comes to an end

the entire world united in mirth

shall laugh once again.

SNOW FALL

The world is falling apart, its people deranged.

War and famine join as climates change.

People are on the move to escape the pain.

Water cleanses in blasts and depths unseen.

We wade through facts, the truth unseen.

Snow starts in the upper atmosphere.

Warm air below alters snow

unless we remain cool

where heated skies collide

and moisture tears up in our eyes.

Watching the snowfall gives us hope.

It blankets ugliness’ scope falling on all of us with equal glaze.

Snow reminds us of our better selves and better days.

Spring warmth is gentle like our souls.

It melts the snow so flowers may grow

within the gardens of our hearts.

We are in the midst of a great change.

Unsettled as Spring weather

we must remember we go through this change together.

And those of us who garden will share the bounty of what we sow

with all who are willing to enter

our gates, their needs in tow.

The old world is dying with every angry breath.

Snow in Spring reminds us there is new life after death.

THE SPACES BETWEEN

Words on the page matter not at all.

It is the space between the words

where mystery dwells.

I fist my hand around the pen,

my defending weapon of choice,

while I struggle with stories to tell.

I do not explore the words;

but, the spaces between and aside

while I open my self wide.

We may read the words together,

and search the space between words

hand in hand, eye to eye, heart to heart.

No hate can break the bond of words,

shared in the spaces between, apart.

And, then, we can know all there is to know

as we join our empty spaces

deep and dark, side by side.

Reach for the stars if you will.

I prefer to explore one another

between the the words of languages

unknown, unable to be spoken.

None of what is written matters at all.

It is the space between words

where love rises and falls.

Hate cannot find its way in the dark.

But, love can.

Love carries its own light within

the spaces between the words.

Love glows in the dark.

FLASHPOINT IN THE DARK

Photo by Maria Orlova on Pexels.com

There is no in.

There is no out.

There is no round-about.

There is only here.

There is only now.

There is no you.

There is no me.

There is no whomever-they-may-be.

There is only us, if we could only see.

There is only One being you and me.

Incarnation guided  by a star

reminds us who we really are.

Alpha-Omega lights our way

through the shoals of eternity.

There is no path to anywhere

but everywhere we be.

There is only here.

‘There is only now.

Make the most of the moment

we are allowed.
